Margot Robbie’s marriage to producer Tom Ackerley faces mounting tension after the disappointing box-office performance of her recent film Big Bold Beautiful Adventure, RadarOnline reported.

Sources close to the couple said Robbie invested deeply in the project, hoping it would follow the massive success of Barbie. Instead, the weak earnings have created friction between Robbie and Ackerley, who jointly weighed key decisions tied to the film.
“This has turned into a big, hard-to-ignore black eye for Margot and Tom, and they don’t have anybody to blame but each other,” a source told the outlet.
Although the movie was not produced under their LuckyChap banner, insiders said Big Bold Beautiful Adventure would never have moved forward without Robbie agreeing to star as her first major role after Barbie. That choice, according to the source, was made together as a couple.
More troubling than the mixed and downbeat reviews, insiders added, is the film’s dismal box-office turnout — a result that has sparked finger-pointing behind the scenes.
“Stronger couples have fallen apart over this kind of pressure,” the source said. “Now Margot and Tom feel that same heat around their next film — their full-scale adaptation of Wuthering Heights, starring Margot and Jacob Elordi and set for release next year.”
According to insiders, much rides on the performance of that project.

“It’s hard to overstate how important this film is for their future in Hollywood and as a couple,” the source said. “Margot knows there are no guarantees in show business, but they have a lot tied to this. And even with most of the filming done, it still doesn’t look like the sure thing that Barbie became.”
Robbie, 35, and Ackerley, whose net worth is estimated at $4 million, married in 2016.
