Is Travis Kelce in deep trouble? The Kansas City Chiefs star might need to find a hiding spot soon! During the latest episode of the New Heights podcast, things took a literal “crashing” turn. Travis joked that his fiancée, the one and only Taylor Swift, is going to kill him!
It all happened this Wednesday. Travis was leaning back, losing it over a joke from his brother and co-host, Jason Kelce. Suddenly—SNAP! The chair underneath Travis audibly gave out. As Travis threw his arms out to save himself, a shocked Jason yelled, “Are you all right, Tra?”
Thankfully, Travis was fine, but his first thought wasn’t about his back—it was about Taylor! He jokingly told Jason, “We’re good… but Taylor’s going to kill me.”
Of course, the Swifties are having a field day with this. One fan tweeted that the chair was probably a priceless antique—maybe from Citizen Kane or the one Ernest Hemingway used to write The Sun Also Rises—and Travis just crushed it like a pile of twigs!
Others are joking that there’s no way Taylor didn’t hear that “loud ass crash” from the other room of her home. It seems Travis’s strength is a bit much for dainty furniture!
Fans are pointing out that Taylor’s home has been through a lot lately. Remember when Zoe Kravitz accidentally destroyed a vintage antique cupboard in Taylor’s bathroom while searching for a lost pet snake last year?
Even more prophetic, a clip from December 2024 has resurfaced! The Toast co-hosts Jackie and Claudia Oshry predicted this exact moment. Claudia joked back then that Taylor’s Rhode Island home is filled with antiques and Travis would eventually crack a chair. Her advice? Taylor needs “Good American-made” heavy-duty furniture like Raymore & Flanigan to accommodate her “big future husband!”
Despite the broken furniture, the couple is stronger than ever. Since they started dating in the summer of 2023, the world hasn’t been able to look away. After getting engaged two years later in 2025, we are now officially on the countdown to the big day.
Mark your calendars! Taylor and Travis are set to tie the knot this June in Rhode Island. Let’s just hope the wedding chairs are a bit more sturdy than the podcast ones!
