But while the world remembers his talent, the most heartbreaking tribute came from someone who saw him as family: Lola Sheen. And she revealed a secret that many of us never knew.
Lola Sheen, the 20-year-old daughter of Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen, took to Instagram to share a raw, emotional goodbye. She called Patrick her ‘rockstar’ and thanked him for being a huge part of her childhood. But here’s the part that really tugged at the heartstrings: Lola admitted she used to beg her mom to get back together with Patrick.
She wrote, ‘I always begged my mom… that you guys would end up back together.’ Lola even joked that she’s sure her mom told him about it. To Lola, they weren’t just exes; they were a ‘package deal.’ Seeing their friendship was, in her words, witnessing something ‘pure and special.’
It makes sense why she felt that way. Denise and Patrick shared over 30 years of history. Even after they broke up, they remained incredibly close—so close, in fact, that it caused tension in Denise’s marriage to Charlie Sheen back in the early 2000s. Denise once admitted on her reality show that she had to stop talking to Patrick for a while because Charlie found their bond hard to deal with.
But they always found their way back to friendship. Even Lola’s sister, Sami, noticed it, once teasing that the ‘sparks’ were still there decades later. Patrick was the one who could make Denise laugh and forget her troubles. He was her rock.
Tragically, that light went out this past Sunday. Patrick passed away at the age of 57 following a sudden heart attack.
